New Compact Voice Alarm System
The VX-3308WM is a combined PA and VA system based on the VX-3000 system and is certified according to the European Standard EN54-16. It is designed to be wall-mounted requiring little space and can be operated as a stand-alone unit as well as being combined with all VX-3000 units. Due to the scalable and integrated architecture of the VX-3000 system, the VX-3308WM is an ideal solution for distributed locations, for example, to cover the many floors of a high-rise building.
It provides 8 speaker line outputs/zones that can be switched between two amplifiers. This allows broadcasting two different audio signals simultaneously on the same speaker lines. The amplifier modules can be easily mounted and removed. Up to 3 power amplifier modules of different wattages can be mounted, two of which drive the speaker lines and one is a standby amplifier. Each amplifier channel has the following DSP functions: different filter types (PEQ, HPF, LPF, shelving, CD-horn EQ, notch), compressor and delay that enables appropriate acoustic adjustment for any broadcast area. The smart ANC function enables the control of ambient noise and is not affected by the audio signal it controls. Therefore, the sensor’s installation location is not critical. The monitoring of the speaker lines can be selected between impedance monitoring with selectable pilot tone or by end-of-line modules.
The VX-3308WM has 4 balanced audio inputs with selectable sensitivity from microphone up to line level, with phantom power selection for microphone use. The inputs can also be set for receiving an emergency broadcast from another VA system of higher priority and broadcast it under the condition of the emergency mode. Up to 8 remote microphones can be connected via RJ45 ports; two of which can be emergency microphones. The following DSP functions are available for each input channel: different filter types (PEQ, HPF, LPF, shelving) and a compressor. Helpful features such as feedback suppressor or voice-controlled broadcast activation (VOX) enhance the usability of the system.

Voice alarm and PA device for mounting on a wall and certified on EN 54-16 and EN 54-4 by an EU notified body. All cable connections of the device shall be installed through cable glands on top of the cabinet and connected via removable screw terminals. A key lock on the front door shall prevent the access by not authorised persons.
The front panel of the cabinet shall provide the indications mandatory for EN 54-16 and EN 54-4, fault status for each speaker zone, status of the network and remote microphone connections. A control for checking the battery status shall be provided.
The VA and PA device shall be able to communicate and broadcast sound with up to 159 other wall-mount devices or compatible cabinet rack units via a redundant Ethernet network so that a system of up to 2552 zones can be realised. With optional certified Ethernet switches and the use of single mode fiber optical cable the distance between devices shall be up to 30 km.
The VA and PA device shall provide 8 non-reactive speaker line outputs (zones) with selectable surveillance by impedance or by end-of-line modules. The standard version shall provide up to 600 watts rated output. A standby amplifier shall be configurable. The zone outputs shall be configurable to be served by one or two amplifiers allowing uninterrupted BGM broadcast. The output voltage of each amplifiers shall be selectable between 100, 70 or 50 volts. It shall have a smart ambient noise controlled output volume adjustment that is not affected by receiving the broadcast signal by the sensor microphone.
Up to 8 optional remote microphones shall be usable on two bus lines, including up to two emergency microphones. Four balanced audio inputs, selectable for microphone and line level, shall be available. 16 contact inputs and two voltage control inputs with selectable polarity and selectable surveillance, and 12 control outputs, four by high power relays with 5A switching capacity, shall be integrated.
Each audio input shall provide a compressor with three selectable “knee” types, selectable attack and release time, threshold, ratio and gain; a voice-operated switch (VOX) with threshold, hysteresis, hold time and control output activation setting; three selectable filters of high-pass, low-pass, parametric EQ, high or low shelving type; and a fully automatic feedback suppressor. Each output channel shall have 6 filters of the selectable types parametric EQ, high- and low pass, notch, all-pass, CD-horn EQ, high- and low-shelving; a compressor with three selectable “knee” types, selectable attack and release time, threshold, ratio and gain; and a delay of up to 2730 ms.
The device/system shall be configurable by an intuitive Windows based software. Up to 1024 audio phrases can be stored, and can played back in groups of up to 8 in up to 1024 messages with selection of repeats or endless. The phrases can also be chime tones that can be used as pre- or post-chimes for each external audio source, the fireman and desktop microphones. Up to 32 different sequences with up to 3 phases shall be configurable for emergency broadcasts. It shall be possible to set up to 1024 emergency broadcast pattern with an individual assignment to different zones for an easy external control by a fire detection system. A single emergency pattern shall allow to broadcast up to two different emergency messages simultaneously, and up to 320 messages in the maximum configuration.
